COMMENCING 12:30 p.m.

Llanelli Music & Jazz Festival is held every year during the August Bank Holiday at The Diplomat Hotel in Llanelli, South Wales.

The Diplomat Hotel is known for providing live music throughout the year, and therefore is the perfect venue to host this very popular event.

Every Saturday evening throughout the year, you will find The Diplomat’s resident band entertaining audiences, with the cream of local talent and hotel guests taking the spotlight with the band.

The first Llanelli Music and Jazz Festival was held in August 1997. This was the brainchild of saxophonist Alan Williams, a local and well respected musician who during his career, played with many great bands throughout the UK. In his later years, Alan played with the resident band at the Diplomat Hotel. Unfortunately he passed away in July 1998. His legacy lives on through the annual Llanelli Music and Jazz Festival.

The Festival serves to promote all types of music appreciation to the public within the Llanelli and surrounding South Wales area, and particularly encourages young people and groups from various ethnic origins to perform their music.

The Llanelli Music and Jazz Festival is a non-profit registered charity, and is run by a committee of volunteers and helpers. I t is not as some may think run and funded by the Hotel

The committee meets throughout the year at The Diplomat Hotel, which provides the venue free of charge to the Festival – without such a gesture, the Festival would not be able to survive.

Funding for the festival comes predominantly from private sponsors. The Bands and Artists performing during the day give their time freely, and receive only limited expenses for their performances. Each year The Llanelli Music and Jazz Festival donates money raised to local charities.

In the past we have supported "The British Heart Foundation", "The Local Hospice", the" Breast Cancer Unit" at the Prince Of Wales Hospital, When You Wish Upon A Star,(who’s aim is to grant the 'Wishes' of children suffering from a life threatening illness), Little Hearts Matter, Leukaemia Research, Motor Neurone Disease and CYCA carmarthenshire Youth and Childrens Association.

This years festival is on Sunday 28th August 2016, commencing at 12:30 p.m.
